Library haul this week: Miss Potter (dvd), Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day (dvd), Under the Banner of Heaven by Jon Krakauer, America’s Saints by Robert Gottleib & Peter Wiley, and Understanding the Book of Mormon by Grant Hardy.
See a theme? Haha. I’ve been reading the Book of Mormon in its entirety. I have no intention of discussing my thoughts publicly on the internet but am always willing to talk about and discuss my thoughts in person or over email if interested. Religion is such a personal subject and something I intend to keep personal. On my last Library Haul post, Miss Rachel recommended Under the Banner of Heaven and beside that book on the shelf were the other two I picked up! The Latter Day Saint movement fascinates me, having personally known a few LDS people and reading many a Mormon Blog. Years ago, during my freshman year of college I took a religion class and during that class I had to visit two religious services I was unfamiliar with and write about them — one of them I chose was to attend a sacrament meeting where I received my own copy of the Book of Mormon… and while I’ve read bits and pieces of it, it wasn’t until recently that I really dedicated time to reading it. I wanted to read it for myself instead of the numerous articles and forums I’ve read from Mormons and apostates alike.
As far as the movies… they seemed cute and fun and I’m looking forward to watching them this week. Have you seen either of the movies?

I’ve seen both movies, and they’re precious. I think you’ll really like them! Miss Petigrew, especially. (She has no relation to Peter, in case you were worried.)
